Alas, there yet remain many more rivers to cross. In fact, there are too many more for comfort. Is it about anxieties or about curses or about allied powerless spiritual shadows to which we pay over-attention? Specifically, is it about the devil or about fears or about the horrendous fact that you have chosen to not know God on own terms?

Just exactly what is the colour of your self-imposed burden? Is it about hard work not being the ever sure talisman everyone makes it or about money falling short here and there or about reward system that is so insane it barks at  excellence but bows with a knowing smile to mediocrity? Is it about relationship that is everything but relationship or about talent that is a curse rather than a blessing or about worship that is not acceptable and therefore unprofitable? Is it about life itself or its end called death?

Whatever it is or is not, The Boss insists you never pay it too much attention. Worry only happens when you worry. It is a very useless something. It comes like an answer but it answers nothing, fixes nothing and destroys everything.

Don’t kill yourself over anxiety. Don’t kill yourself over curses, even blessings. Curses are never for you: if you know, you know. As for blessings: they are yours even if you don’t know so.

A very simple matter, that. Blessings come or flow from only one source. Do you know Him? Does He know you?

By the way, please define via a shortlist your understanding of blessings. Cars, children, houses, promotion, spouse, right? Wrong: you see your life? Study to show thyself approved; the quickest way to do that being by listening to a sound teacher.

I recommend: from the beginning, in the middle and at the end, the one and only Global Ba’aba, Dr Abel Damina. He is my beloved father, in whom I am well pleased. Please, try listening to him, even if you can’t. My email address is up here, because I know you shall return to thank me later.

As I was saying, don’t kill yourself over Satan. The poor guy is already dead and eternally defeated by your Saviour. The devil can do you nothing except your identity crisis weakens you to the point of allowing a dead donkey scare you into submission. Seek and acquire knowledge to understand who you are and what you have and can do in Christ so that you stop being afraid of what or who is afraid of you!

This is more important than you think. Get to live or lead a far better life. Enjoy your best life which only Christ offers. Fear nobody and nothing: nobody should exploit you to give seeds which never germinate nor bring forth harvest.

Next, let’s talk about hard work, about money, about reward system. Don’t kill yourself over the trio. You can work hard, so so hard but no money and no result to show for it. Meaning that even when hard work produces money or what you call success, there’s more to it than meets the eye.

That’s one. Two, money itself is another problem. You never have enough of it. Elon Musk of Tesla/SpaceX and Jeff Bezos of Amazon and Bernard Arnault and family of LVMH and Bill Gates of Microsoft and Aliko Dangote of Nigeria -you get that- and a few other real billionaires still work, day and night, to acquire more; to become richer.

The tragedy is that together, these plutocrats don’t even number up to a millionth of the global population. Yet, in spite of being collectively richer than the rest of the billions of us put together they cannot stop collecting more of the little we have, to get richer. You can see clearly now, can’t you? This is how the super-rich become richer while the poorest of the poor become poorer.

No one retires from making money. Even super rich retirees are busy pulling money-making strings and running up and down, pressing buttons to make more money. Why would you kill yourself over something as unsatisfying, as depthless, as heightless as that? Plus, money is so good and so powerful it plays no part in the afterlife.

Stop, go back and read that again -slowly. Never forget that you do not need to kill yourself for or over money because money is valueless in death. Furthermore, don’t kill yourself over reward nor its system. They never are in sync.

Don’t kill yourself over delayed or failed or never rewards or a system that approbates and reprobates in one fell swoop. Don’t kill yourself, my dear: life is wired like that. Nothing ever adds up, nothing is a constant. One chases a thousand, two chase ten thousand: what type of lopsided mathematics is that?

Relationship, talent and worship are also unmathematical. No relationship guarantees anything. Your bestie can dupe you, can kill you, can stain you terminally. Your worstie can fix you, can help you, can save you.

You can be talented for nothing. Both the world and your people can despise your talent(s). They can call you arrogant just so your excellence is rendered not good enough. I know you know many monstrously talented persons who are struggling to eke out a living all because, for no fault of theirs, someone somewhere made them a dog, gave them a bad name and lined them up for the guillotine.

Ditto, worship. It is not a magic wand. Did not the Big Man who sits high up there say that when at the end some worshippers call Him Father He would deny ever knowing them? Please, slow down your worship of man, of money, of power.

No matter the condition, never kill yourself. No condition is permanent. Do you think you are too broke, too guilty, too poor? Don’t give up, a sudden change is coming either as breakthrough or as absolution.

Semifinally, don’t (in fact, never) kill yourself for people. An alarming majority of so-called friends or so-called lovers for whom you fall and fall don’t care about your life. In how disdainful they treat you, you second-guess clearly and correctly how they would treat a dead you. Blood and others are too self-centred: please, protect yourself.

Finally, don’t kill yourself over life nor over death. You have to be alive to enjoy life. So, why die? And, why do you kill yourself over death when death has its own time to come for you?

Echoes from my 53rd birthday

August 12, 2024, was massive. It has been so the last two, three decades and counting. Such an outpouring of affection and goodwill.

This year though, a 20-year wait came to an interesting sweet end. In the wee hours of the epochal day, the BUSH Clan received a new member. Mummy Abasiodiong and she, Diamondabasi Ama BUSH, are doing good.

This, therefore, serves to thank God for these gifts and more. Appreciation also goes to family and fans and friends who contributed in one way or the other. It is true that one is dead without people.

Rest assured, the humongous show of love will only compel this writer to do more for humanity. I shall continue to operate on this wavelength, on an even higher frequency. My life is useless, if I don’t work for others to be better, to do better, to live better.

By the way, I also took some reminder lessons home from the whole experience. Some of those you thought you live for would conveniently lose their voice or themselves on your day. People are only for you not necessarily because of blood or how helpful they consider you but really only when God touches their heart for you!

Christ: What does just believing lose?

Why is there so much fuss over the simplicity of the gospel? Abraham believed and he was justified.

Why is it difficult for people to just accept that Jesus Christ died, was buried and He resurrected for us? What do you lose just believing?

Please, explain so I can join you. And, while you are at it, which one is even easier: to be saved by my works or to be saved by the finished work of Christ (dying and resurrecting) for me?

If it is all about works, then why did Jesus Christ die? Remember, if you insist on mixing Christ and works, you are of the law; you are in disobedience and idol worship and ignorance because you are telling us that Christ is half-caste and, therefore, not good enough.

That should sink in. Most of those who have been guilted into believing nonsense and preaching nonsense and defending nonsense all over the place do not understand the implications of their folly.

In everything God and life, Christ is too much to be mixed with another criterion or other criteria. End of discussion.

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).

Did God really call you?
