The bitter divorce battle between Nigerian striker Kayode Olarenwaju and his estranged wife Ezinne has continued to degenerate into messier levels.
Olarenwaju filed a cross-petition on 1st July 2024, seeking the dissolution of their marriage on grounds of irretrievable breakdown.
The footballer accuses Ezinne of adultery with a UK-based pastor, Tobi Adegboyega, since their marriage in 2013.
He is requesting N1 billion (over $700,000) in damages from the pastor for emotional distress, financial loss, and reputational damage.
Ezinne previously filed her own lawsuit against Olarenwaju in March 2024, accusing him of baseless accusations of infidelity and witchcraft.
She also claimed he damaged her phone.
Olarenwaju counters these claims and further accuses Ezinne of abducting their children in March before they were recovered by the Department of State Services.
He also alleges that Ezinne has been mismanaging their joint business ventures, including properties acquired through a company they co-founded.
Olarenwaju is seeking full custody of the children, arguing that Ezinne is unfit due to her alleged infidelity and disregard for their education.
The court will hear the case on 24 September 2024.
