The Emir of Zuru, General(rtd) Muhammad Sani Sami, Gomo II, has bestowed traditional title on the wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris as ‘Jagaban Matan Zuru’ in recognitions and remarkable performance of her husband in steering the affairs of the state to fruition.
Sami conferred the traditional title on her when she and her entourage paid homage to him in his Palace in Zuru Town.
Press Secretary to the Governor’s Wife,Hajiya Khadijat Saidu confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.
According to her, “the Emir described the trend as unprecedented in the history of Kebbi State, acknowledging her penchant to improve the general wellbeing of the people of the state.
“The Gomo II, commended Governor Nasir Idris for taking over the reigns of power with clear vision, policy thrust and blueprint for development which has already been manifested in the infrastructural, social and economic growth of the state.
“He was delighted about the incisive efforts and strategy adopted by the Governor,Dr. Nasir Idris, to surmount security challenges in Kebbi South, making it possible for return to normality in Zuru Emirate that enabled farmers to cultivate their farmlands”.
She added that the Emir praised the Governor for striving hard towards ensuring the completion of the rehabilitation of the Koko – Dabai road, urging the Federal Government to revoke the contract and allow Kebbi State Government to execute the project for quality and speed.
In her remarks, the Wife of the Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, was qouted to have thanked the Emir and the people of his domain for their support and loyalty to the incumbent administration of her husband Governor Nasir Idris, (Kauran Gwandu), (Garkuwan Zuru).
“Hajiya Nasare informed the Monarch that she is in Zuru in continuation of her empowerment programme to women under which beneficiaries will receive rice and other assorted grains as well as cash to improve their well being.
“The Governor’s wife thanked General Sani Sami for honouring her with the traditional title”, she added.
