Members of the over 4,000 Abia disengaged workers (ADW) have congratulated Governor Alex Otti over his victory at the Appeal Court.
The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos, had while affirming Otti of the Labour Party as the authentic winner of the March 18, 2023 governorship election in Abia state, described the petitions against him as a comedy skit which should not have been brought up in a democratic setting.
Congratulating the Governor, leader of ADW, Mrs. Fidelia Ihejirika said they were not surprised at the ruling of the Appeal Court which she said stamped the earlier verdict of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Umuahia.
Ihejirika said both judgments were in tandem with the aspirations of the Abia electorates who voted overwhelming for Otti during the election.
The ADW leader said it was for this reason there were jubilations all over Abia immediately Otti was announced winner of the governorship election and its affirmation by the courts.
“The courts did not make any mistake in their verdicts because Abians freely and overwhelmingly gave their votes to Otti, therefore, it could have been a great mistake if the reverse were to be the case.”
While pledging the total support of her members to the Otti administration, Mrs. Ihejirika said she was optimistic the Governor would not disappoint his people.
