THE die is cast and at last there is no hiding place for the two teams that have reached the final of the 12th edition of the Zenith Bank sponsored Women Basketball League.

Defending champions’ Dolphins of Lagos will after a visit to the corporate headquarters of Zenith Bank today return to the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere staking their title against former champions, First Bank Elephant girls.

For both sides that played in different pools in the first and second phases in Abuja and Asaba respectively, today’s final would be the big test as they are both matched in terms of personnel and technicalities.

Dolphins had in the first semi-final played on Tuesday dealt with the Nigeria Customs 74-53 points.

The girls of Punch newspapers chairman, Wale Aboderin left no one in doubt as to their intentions of retaining the trophy they won last year after many near chances.

Aboderin and his head coach, Ochuko Okworogun would be at their wits ends when they confront First Bank led by Coach Peter Ahmedu and Chris Okoh both winners of the DStv Premier Basketball League title with Mark Mentors last season.

With First Bank seeking to reclaim the title they lost under Coach Adewunmi Aderemi, it sure promises to be a fight to the finish. It is not likely that fans will see the Elephant Girls hitting a century like had been the case in most of their matches and against the IGP Queens 105-22 points, coach Ahmedu will favour a strong defence and fast paced offence to steal the day.
