The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), said it will collaborate with the Jordan Nwora Foundation in order to empower youths in the country.

Sly Ezeokenwa, who stated this in a statement, said the party will work with the foundation using basketball as a means to uplift young people and provide them with opportunities, to enable them to veer away from street-related challenges.

According to the statement, Ezeokenwa made the commitment during a courtesy by a team from the foundation at the APGA Regional Secretariat in Awka.

Ezeokenwa praised the founder of the foundation, Mr. Jordan Nwora, describing him as a prominent figure in the United States National Basketball Association (NBA).

He also commended Jordan Nwora for establishing the foundation, adding that its collaboration with APGA and the Anambra State Government portends great potentials for the state.

Ezeokenwa said: “APGA is ready to collaborate with the foundation in using basketball as a means to uplift young people and provide them with opportunities, ultimately enabling them to veer away from street-related challenges.”

On his part, the state Chairman of APGA, Mr. Ifeatu Obi Okoye, also expressed appreciation for the foundation’s efforts in uplifting the youth in Anambra state.

He said the party in Anambra State is committed to supporting the efforts of the Foundation to uplift and better the lives of the young population.

Earlier, the President of the Federation International Basketball Ball Association (FIBA) Zone 3, Col. Sam Ahmedu (Rtd), Alex Nwora (Father of Jordan Nwora) who serves as the director of the foundation, and Anthony Nwora, explained that the motivation for their involvement with the foundation stemmed from the founder’s desire to positively impact youth throughout Africa and to give back to society.

They said the foundation, which provides basketball training to young people, has also awarded foreign scholarships to nine youths, with plans to add another three recipients this year.

Among the team from foundation that came for the courtesy visit were two American volunteers and former WNBA player Ann O’Neill, and a basketball coach Spencer.
The team expressed their commitment to the Foundation’s mission of assisting young individuals in achieving their goals, both within and outside of basketball.
