A socio-political organization, Newbreed for Sustainable Development, has declared partnership with the Akwa Ibom State government on the forthcoming Ibom Entertainment Week.
The was revealed by the Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom State Governor on Entertainment Industry, David Sergeant aka Utang Akwa Ibom on Tuesday, May 16 during a media parley to unveil Ibom Entertainment Week season 3.
The media briefing was done in company of the chairman of the Central Planning Committee and Special Assistant to Governor on Project Monitoring, Mr Godfada Uko, alongside members of the committee.
According to David Sergeant, activities lined up for the 2023 edition of the annual event include Gratitude Road Walk, which holds on Friday, May 19 by 7am, kicking off from Ibom Hall to Barracks Road Globe; Award Ceremony on Saturday, May 20 by 7pm at Emerald Event Center, and Thank You Concert on Sunday by 4pm at Nwaniba Water Fountain, featuring select entertainers.
Nollywood actor, Segun Arinze will grace the occasion, alongside Terry G as guest act for the Thank You Concert. Other performing acts are Mista Xto, Sir Wilker, Ikpa Udo, Upper X, Feelingz, Disasta, Pope Don X, DJ Santo, Eplus, Eb Ekeng, Bhad Pastor, Bob Biggie, Akpan Mma, and Yung Chains. On ground to crack ribs are MC George, Comedian A1 and General Odey.
Sergeant seized the opportunity to thank his boss, Governor Udom Emmanuel for appointing entertainers into his cabinet, and for several other favours enjoyed under his administration. He said the week promises to be fun, with the major highlight being the recognition awards to individuals and brands, for their contributions to the development of the entertainment industry in the state.
