Nigeria’s Praise Idamadudu has been named Mid-South Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week following two first place finishes at the South Alabama Invitational last weekend.
The 22-year-old former Africa U20 200m and 4x100m champion took home first place in the 400m event with in 55.38.
This event gives her the second-best qualifying time in the NAIA, improving on her previous sixth-best mark. She also finished first in the 200m race in 24.10, giving her “A” standards with the fastest time in the NAIA.
This is Idamadudu’s second time receiving Mid-South Conference Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honours this season and third of her career.
The Nigerian had, in her first event of the season, qualified for three NAIA Indoor National Championships with “A” Standards for the 60m, 200m, and the 400m.
She took home first place in two of the three events she competed in that weekend. She led the 60m event in 7.53, posted a first place finish in the 400m (56.97) and took fourth place in the 200m in 25.15.
Idamadudu has picked up six overall MSC weekly recognitions in her career.
