90th anniversary: Church holds talk on cancer, makes charity donations

Health talk on cancer and charity donations are among items listed by the Christ Church Anglican, Agege, Lagos, as the church rolls out the drums for its nonagenarian celebration.

Activities marking the event will kick off tomorrow, Sunday, July 7, 2024, with a prophetic ministration, to be led by Ven. Israel Owoyele, the Vicar of the church.

A statement by the Chairman of the 90th Anniversary Committee, Chief Tony Olufidipe, showed that the week-long celebration of the 90th anniversary of the church would feature a bible study, quiz, a three-day crusade with charity donations, and a health talk on cancer

At least, two bishops will deliver messages to the congregants during the celebration. They are the Right Reverend James Olusola Odedeji, who is the host bishop of the Diocese of Lagos West, and Right Reverend (Prof) Dapo Asaju of Ilesa Diocese in Osun State.

Activities marking the Nonagenarian celebration of Christ Church Anglican, Agege will kick off on Sunday, July 7, 2024, with a prophetic ministration led by Ven Israel Owoyele, the Vicar of the Church.

Bishop Asaju is expected to give an exhortation on the theme of the celebration: “Faith of Our Fathers” chosen from Hebrews 11:1 and 6 on Sunday, July 14.

The grand finale of the celebration will be held on Monday, July 15, at a service to be presided over by the host bishop, Rt. Rev’d Olusola Odedeji, who will also lay the foundation for some landmark projects to commemorate the 90th anniversary.
