A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, Barr Success Akagburuonye, has described Governor Hope Uzodimma as the most powerful and successful governor in present-day Nigeria.

Akagburuonye, a frontline contender in the coming Imo governorship election, said this during a church service at the ultra-modern Noah’s Ark Church, which he built in his native Uvuru community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of the state.

While accepting a certificate of chieftaincy conferment on him by the traditional ruler of the Mbutu Nweorie autonomous community in the state, His Royal Highness, Eze Hon Anthony Emeh, Akagburuonye said he had accepted the title of Aku Ruo Ulo of Mbaise and dedicated it to the state governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, whom he described as the most powerful and successful governor in Nigeria at the moment.

He further described the governor as the people’s governor and also the unrivalled “infrastructure governor” who has left highly intimidating signature achievements in the state in his six years of serving as governor.

Akagburuonye, who is also known as a “kingdom investor”, prayed that Imo only needs a successor who will easily share the views and ideologies of the governor and also be a success like Governor Uzodimma.

He, however, promised to build a befitting palace for the young traditional ruler on request.

The chieftaincy conferment was carried out on 31 December 2025 in the absence of Barr Akagburuonye, who was abroad for consultations.
