Six years after his passing, family members, friends, associates and admirers on Tuesday gathered to celebrate the life, legacy and enduring impact of businessman and estate consultant, Chief Teslim Adeola Almaroof, whose contributions to the real estate sector and community development continue to resonate across Lagos and Ogun states.

The remembrance event, held in the form of a Fidau prayer, was organised by prominent estate agent, Alhaji Mutairu Owoeye, at his residence in Atan Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Ogun State. The gathering drew well-wishers who came to offer prayers for the repose of the deceased’s soul and reflect on his remarkable life of service and integrity.

Almaroof, who died on July 2, 2020, was Head, Arota-Ologun Family, Orile Oshodi, Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Lagos State.

He was widely respected as a distinguished estate consultant, community leader and advocate for justice in land and property matters.

Owoeye described Almaroof as his mentor, guide and benefactor whose wisdom, professional excellence and exemplary character profoundly shaped his career and personal development: “He remained one of the most influential figures I encountered in the real estate profession. Chief Almaroof was a man renowned for his honesty, diligence and unwavering commitment to truth.

“He conducted his affairs with uncommon transparency and was admired for his strong moral values, professional ethics, impeccable integrity and unshakeable loyalty to friends, associates and clients.

“One of Almaroof’s defining qualities was his relentless pursuit of justice, particularly for indigenous land-owning families whose ancestral lands had been unlawfully occupied or taken over by trespassers and opportunistic land grabbers. The late consultant devoted considerable time and resources to defending the rights of such families.”

He explained that Almaroof possessed extensive knowledge of land administration and property management, which he deployed in helping disadvantaged families recover their lands through lawful means: “By collaborating with experienced legal practitioners and other professionals, he consistently sought redress for victims of land encroachment and deprivation.

“Beyond his professional accomplishments, the deceased was a quiet philanthropist whose acts of kindness transformed many lives. Almaroof was a man of immense compassion and generosity who supported numerous charitable causes without seeking public recognition or personal acclaim.”

According to him, the late businessman extended assistance to religious organisations, community groups and initiatives dedicated to uplifting the less privileged; “Many beneficiaries of his benevolence often received support discreetly, reflecting his preference for service over publicity.”

He praised Almaroof’s humility: “Despite attaining considerable success in land and property management and introducing innovative practices within the industry, he remained remarkably modest and approachable. His achievements never diminished his simplicity or respect for others.”

Participants at the Fidau prayer described the deceased as a bridge-builder, peacemaker and dependable leader whose counsel was frequently sought on matters affecting families, communities and property interests.

They noted that his wisdom and experience contributed significantly to the resolution of numerous disputes during his lifetime. Speakers also commended Almaroof’s dedication to preserving family heritage and protecting communal assets.

They said his steadfast commitment to fairness and justice earned him widespread admiration and established him as a respected voice in both traditional and professional circles.
