As parts of the activities to commemorate of his 56th birthday, the senator representing Ogun West senatorial district at the National Assembly, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has distributed no fewer than 102 power transformers to 435 Community Development Associations (CDAs) across Ogun State.

The senator, in a statement by his Media Adviser, Kayode Odunaro, said transformers, handed over to representatives of the CDAs in Ilaro at the sidelines of the 56th birthday celebration of the senator, organized by his friends and supporters, were of different specifications according to the requirements of each benefitting localities, including 500kva/33, 500kva/11, 300kva/33 and 300kva/11.

Odunaro added that the donation was in line with the senator’s “Light Up Ogun State” project that has benefited a total of 17 local government areas in the state.

The LGAs include Yewa North, Ado Odo Ota, Yewa South, Abeokuta North, Ifo, Obafemi Owode, Ewekoro, and Sagamu. Others are Ijebu Ode, Odogbolu, Ipokia, Ijebu North East, Ikenne, Ijebu East, Remo North, Abeokuta South and Ijebu North.

Senator Adeola was quoted to have disclosed that he facilitated the energy infrastructure because his office was inundated with several requests for transformers following his periodic donation of transformers to communities over the years.

“It is a thing of joy for me to bring light to various homes and businesses through the provision of transformers and  their energization.

“Related to the provision of transformers in the “Light Up Ogun State” is the provision and installation of solar power street lights along streets, markets, communities and palaces with over 16,500 poles installed so far across Ogun West senatorial district and beyond.

“Let me state clearly that this facilitation is an ongoing process as there are still many more communities in darkness as a result of damage or inadequate energy infrastructure. I will continue to address these challenges that are already compiled in my office,” Adeola said.  Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, disclosed that the birthday celebration was organized by the friends and core supporters of Senator Adeola, to celebrate his accomplishments as a senator representing Ogun West.

Speaking with newsmen at the event held at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion, Ilaro, he explained further that they decided to pool resources together to give a befitting birthday to the senator to demonstrate their love, affection and support for him.

Chairman, Central Planning Committee of the event and the Commissioner of Housing in the state, Jamiu Akande Omoniyi, expressed delight that friends and supporters of the senator could come together to honour him and appreciate his unprecedented performance in the National Assembly.

Omoniyi, who commended Adeola for facilitating 102 power transformers and energisation to 435 communities in the state to commemorate his birthday, disclosed the 56th birthday celebration was simultaneously organised in Ogun East and Ogun West senatorial districts.
