Cross River State has empowered 538 youths through acquisition of various life changing skills in ICT, cosmetology, paint production and installation/maintenance of solar energy equipment.
The training was organized by the Youth Church, Region 17 Calabar of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry in collaboration with the Office of the First Lady of Cross River State, IRS.
The training, tagged “2025 Free Skill Acquisition and Digital Empowerment” spanned about three weeks and was a transformational experience for the participants as it equipped them with skills and confidence to succeed in their chosen fields.
Areas covered by the training include cosmetology and cosmetics production, installation of solar energy equipment, paint production, CCTV and satellite dish installation, ICT and digital business, among others.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony, Pastor James Obok, the Regional Overseer, South South Region said the vision started 10 years ago and welcomed the collaboration with the Office of the First Lady.

“This is the 10th convocation of this programme and today we are graduating with 538 people. The vision for this empowerment started in 2015 and has grown over the years. We are grateful for the collaboration with the Wife of the state governor Bishop Eyoanwan Out,” he said.
He added that the empowerment is not limited to just members but is open to everyone in the society who indicated interest in the training.
In her remarks, wife of the Cross River State governor, Bishop Eyoanwan Out, who was represented by Dr Virgina Ironbar described the training as a celebration of vision, hard work and determination.
She welcomed partnerships with faith-based organizations saying it was consistent with her determination to advance the course of development and humanity.
Ntoe Godwin Asuquo, a royal father charged the beneficiaries to make good use of the empowerment.
He also thanked the wife of the governor as well as the church for deeming it fit to empower people to get out of poverty.
