500 PDP supporters defect to APC in Sokoto LG

No fewer than five hundred and sixty- seven supporters PDP supporters have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gagi ward of Sokoto South Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

 

This came to fore at an event organized by officials of APC SAK an association formed with a view to canvassing for votes to the party in the state come general elections in February, 2023.

 

The event which was witnessed by hundreds of APC supporters in Gagi ward also featured the welcoming of the decampees to the All progressives Congress APC.

 

Speaking, the chairman of the association, Ahmad Rufai said the area is facing a number of problems begging for attention.

 

This he said include perennial water shortage, lack of drainage system as well low current of power supply in the area.

 

“We record serious flooding each time it rains because of the lack of a good drainage system,”the chairman added.

 

He appealed to APC governorship candidates to look into the said challenges if elected come February polls.

 

The APC-SAK association, he added, has trained a sizable number of women on various trades in order to make them self-reliant.

 

Responding, the state APC governorship candidate Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, assured that his administration will look into the said problems if elected.

 

He added that infrastructural development will receive the needed attention to ensure a new sokoto state.

 

“Sokoto state requires more infrastructural development than it has,” he added

 

He appealed to APC supporters in the state to redouble efforts and ensure the party’s victory come February elections. He also thanked people of Gagi ward for the warm reception accorded him.
