A gang of robbers, yesterday, struck at Onireke bus stop opposite Ojo barracks, during which five people were reportedly killed.

The robbers were said to have shot sporadically, causing people to scamper for safety.

A security man who witnessed the incident said the operation lasted 30 minutes. Before the police opposite Ojo Barracks and the military could reinforce, the robbers had escaped.

The source said the incident was the first such robbery attack to have taken place in the area.

As at the time of filing this report, residents in the area were said to be tense wondering how such a robbery attack could have taken place opposite Ojo barracks, which is believed to be the largest military cantonment in Africa.

The robbers allegedly snatched valuables from the people including money at gun point.
