Niger State Police Command has arrested over 40 suspected kidnappers, armed robbers and rapists. Commissionerºof Police, Abduallhi Elleman, said: “We are tackling the criminals. This time, it will too hard for hoodlums to carry out their operations.
“I visited some blackspots and redeployed some tactical team operatives. The command has imbibed community policing. I have encouraged officers on discipline, professionalism and integrity. These are the core values every officer must uphold. Insubordination will not be tolerated.
“Police operatives in GRA Division, Mokwa and Chanchasa Division arrested 10 suspects for rape and sexual assault of three and 12-year-old girls. The 40-year-old suspect lured his victims into an uncompleted building to perpetrate the crime.

“Five suspects were sighted around Raba forest, via Mokwa, with suspected rustled animals. Operatives trailed the suspects along Jebba-Mokwa Road and recovered 42 sheep. Police in A Division, Bida, arrested a suspect for theft of motorcycle and attempted homicide.
“Operatives attached to the Area Command, Kontagora, arrested four suspects over abduction and killing. Police in Maitumbi Division with vigilante members stormed criminals’ hideouts and arrested three suspects. Suspected kidnappers were arrested by operatives in New Bosso Division and vigilant members.
“Operatives in Ibbi Division, mobilised with vigilante men rescued three abducted victims during gun duel at Aworo village, via Leaba Zugurma, Mashegu LG. Two suspects were arrested for house breaking and theft at Barikin Sale U-Turn, Minna.”
