4 feared killed as ISWAP attacks police station in Borno

Four policemen were feared killed following a heavy attack on a police station in Borno State by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in a renewed violence in the area.

ISWAP fighters had stormed a police station in the town of Gajiram, Ngazai Local Government in northern part of Borno on Friday.

According to sources, the terrorists opened fire on the police station as soon as they arrived and thereafter set the station ablaze.

No fewer than four of the victims believed to be police personnel who were at the station when the attack took place were found dead.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Nahun Daso, could not be reached for official confirmation of the incident at the time of filing this report.

The incident is one in a chain of attacks reported in the area in recent time.
