Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA) has announced that the 37th edition of the Enugu International Trade Fair will commence on March 21 and run until March 30, 2026,
Outgoing President of ECCIMA, Odeiga Jideonwo, made the declaration during the 52nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Chamber, held at its secretariat in Enugu, yesterday.
According to Jideonwo, the Fair, themed “Empowering MSMEs for Global Competitiveness,” will be hosted with a clear roadmap and comprehensive strategies already in place to ensure a successful outing. He urged all stakeholders to participate in what he described as a landmark and epoch-making event.
“The 37th Enugu International Trade Fair has been scheduled to hold from Saturday 21st to Monday, 30th March 2026 under the theme: ‘Empowering MSMEs for Global Competitiveness.’
“Comprehensive strategies and a clear roadmap for the successful hosting of the Fair have been developed, and implementation is already in progress. Marketing activities commenced last year through both direct and indirect channels, and we are encouraged by the growing interest from both local and international organisations.
“I therefore invite all institutions, government agencies, and international partners to actively participate in this landmark event, which has been deliberately structured to deliver value across all stakeholder groups,” Jideonwo declared.
Earlier in his address, the ECCIMA boss commended the Enugu State Government for what he described as its “visible and sustainable commitment to urban renewal and infrastructure development across Enugu metropolis and other parts of the state.”

He particularly praised the administration for its strides in the education sector.
“Worthy of mention are your administration’s bold intervention in upgrading the education system through the construction of 260 Smart Schools, significant investment in road construction and transport infrastructure, as well as renewed focus on the tourism sector, among other laudable initiatives.”
Jideonwo also lauded the state government for improving the business environment in Enugu, noting that the state was ranked third in ease of doing business nationwide.
“Your Excellency, we also wish to highly commend the extraordinary efforts of your administration in improving the business environment in Enugu State. Indeed, measurable progress has been recorded, as evidenced by Enugu State’s 3rd place ranking of the 36 states and the FCT in the 2025 Presidential Ease of Doing Business Ranking.
“This achievement stands as a testament to your administration’s commitment to reforms, efficiency, and service delivery. We are truly proud of these unrelenting efforts to position Enugu State as a competitive and business-friendly destination,” he added.
Declaring the AGM open, Governor Peter Mbah, who was represented by the Commissioner for Commerce, Investment and Industry, Sam Ogbu-Nwobodo, urged ECCIMA and the business community to continue supporting the state government.
“I urge you to continue to support the Enugu State Government because the government will listen. Where there can be changes, we shall make the changes. With your cooperation, we shall continue to achieve better as a government,” he said.
