3 injured as another container truck crashes on Kara Bridge

Three persons were injured on Tuesday afternoon after another 40-foot containerised truck was involved in a lone crash on Kara Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, worsening traffic gridlock on the axis.

The incident which took place inward Mowe, by the ENYO Filling Station, around the expansion joint, was said to have occurred after the vehicle suffered brake failure.

 

The incident followed another crash, on Tuesday morning, involving a 40-foot container laden truck which crashed into the demarcation blocks and other vehicles at the exit of Kara bridge.

Confirming the latest incident at 1:20 pm on X, the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) said, “There is a lone road crash of a 40ft containerised truck on Kara Bridge, inward Mowe, by the ENYO Filling Station, around the expansion joint, after the vehicle suffered brake failure.”

“Three casualties were recorded and have been conveyed to an emergency centre for medical attention,” the agency added.

LASTMA said the entire carriageway inward OPIC was cordoned off, with counterflow traffic control measures adopted to manage vehicular movement.

LASTMA personnel were on ground alongside police officers from Isheri and FRSC to manage the situation.
