Tension has gripped the Olojuoro area of Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State following the alleged abduction of three workers at a concrete block factory in the early hours of Friday.
The victims, identified as Adekola Muidini Asanti, Yinka, and Saheed, were reportedly kidnapped at gunpoint while having breakfast at a nearby canteen before resuming work for the day.
The factory, owned by Prince Jelili Oyetunde, is located in the Olojuoro axis of Oluyole Local Government. Speaking with journalists on Saturday morning, Oyetunde narrated that CCTV footage captured how the attackers stormed the area and whisked the workers away.
According to him, the suspected abductors include Baale Alimi Yusuf, Tunde Lawal, Saheed Olawoyin, Ibrahim Shittu, and Sule Adigun. He further alleged that during the operation, one of the suspects carted away a bag belonging to the factory manager.
Oyetunde disclosed that the matter has been reported to the police and that he and the alleged abductors are expected to appear before the Oyo State Anti-Land Grabbing Agency on Wednesday, March 4, over related issues.
He claimed that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Sanyo Police Station confirmed that the suspects brought the apprehended workers to the station at some point and were allegedly instructed to release them.
However, Oyetunde lamented that since the workers were reportedly taken away from the police station, their whereabouts have remained unknown.
“We have visited police stations within Oluyole Local Government Area and made announcements on various radio stations, but as of this morning, we still do not know where they are,” he said.
