Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, and his wife, Natasha Osawaru, have publicly dedicated their baby boy in church, marking a symbolic new chapter for the couple months after their traditional wedding.

The quiet but emotional ceremony, which took place over the weekend, drew close family members and friends. A video that has since gone viral on social media shows the couple dancing joyfully toward the altar while carrying their son, as relatives followed behind clapping and celebrating.

The dedication comes barely three months after the pair welcomed their first child together in November 2025.

In the footage, 2Baba dressed in a simple, elegant outfit appeared calm and reflective, occasionally smiling as he stood beside Natasha. At a point during the service, Natasha handed the baby to the officiating minister for prayers while members of the congregation watched.

For many observers, the moment signalled stability and renewed focus on family, especially given the controversies that trailed the singer in recent months.

Their relationship dominated headlines late last year after reports emerged that 2Baba had been arrested in the United Kingdom following an alleged domestic altercation involving Natasha. The incident sparked intense online debate, with critics questioning the future of their union.

However, in a recent interview with journalist Seun Okinbaloye, the African Queen crooner addressed the controversy and accepted responsibility for his actions.

He admitted he had been overwhelmed at the time and acknowledged that pressure sometimes pushed him into making poor decisions. The singer also confessed that his once “thick skin” had weakened over the years, suggesting that fame and personal struggles had taken an emotional toll.

Despite the shadows of his high-profile divorce from Annie Idibia, 2Baba appeared composed during the church ceremony, focusing squarely on his wife and newborn son.

As expected, the dedication video triggered mixed reactions online.

One user, Sophia George, questioned Natasha’s outfit choice, writing: “Does this girl Natasha love wearing black? Black again on her child’s dedication?”

Another commenter, Nwokpoku Israel Michael, remarked: “As long as it’s not Annie Idibia, I no fit type congratulations.”

Others focused on the celebratory atmosphere, with one user joking about Natasha’s energetic dancing during the service.

The dedication also comes amid renewed conversations around 2Baba’s personal journey. Talent manager Teebillz recently reacted to earlier viral clips allegedly showing altercations involving the singer in Nigeria and London. He spoke about private conversations he had shared with the artiste, describing him as deeply reflective during difficult periods.

For now, however, the church dedication paints a different picture one of gratitude, healing and a family choosing to move forward.

In a career spanning more than two decades, 2Baba has weathered public scrutiny, industry battles and personal trials. Wednesday’s celebration suggests that, beyond the fame and headlines, the veteran singer is intent on embracing a quieter, more grounded season of his life.
