250 patients benefit from Lions Club reading glasses

As part of its activities to celebrate the 2022 World Sight Day, the Region 3 Lions Club International District 404A1 Nigeria, gave out free reading glasses to over 250 patients in Anthony Village, Lagos State.

All the patients who attended the event also benefitted from a health talk, free eyes examination, as well as screening for glaucoma and other related eye conditions.

The Lions Club of Anthony Region 3, led other 14 clubs under her for the two-day event, which started with a health walk round the community.

Speaking with journalists, the Region 3 Chairperson, Mrs. Chinenye Nwaku, noted that the 2022 World Sight Day, with the theme: “Love your Eyes”, was being celebrated with the club carrying out eyes screening to handle cataracts and glaucoma challenges, and also to share glasses in other to prevent blindness.   

She said: “This is one of the ways Lions Club contributes towards alleviating the huge burden posed by eye diseases. We carry out free eye surgeries.”
