Osun State Police Command has arrested 24 suspected kidnappers, armed robbers and cultists. Commissioner of Police, Mr Ibrahim Gotan, said: “We have sent strong signal to criminals to stay clear of the state.
“We will not relent to rid Osun of criminals. Our officers remain committed in pursuing justice with diligence and integrity. I have charged officers to rise up to the task and flush out the criminals.
“The ember months will be too hard for hoodlums to operate. I visited some black spots and redeployed tactical team operatives. The command has imbibed community policing.
“The Anti-Cultism Unit (ACU) arrested six suspected members of Eiye Confraternity and Buccaneer Confraternity [Alora], terrorising residents of Okuku, Gbeja and Oke-Baale, Osogbo. Some suspected members of Eiye who invaded Fakunle, Osogbo, were arrested.
“ACU operatives while on township patrol along Oke-Baale a notorious gang leader of ritual killers. Two suspected members of Eiye Confraternity were arrested at Osun State Polytechnic junction, Iree.
“Detectives Surveillance Squad on stop-and-search along Sekona-Gbongan Road intercepted a Bajaj machine and arrested one suspect. Eight suspects who murder two victims and removed their abdomen and other vital organs of their body at Amotedo, Apomu, Ikire Local Government, were arrested.
“ACU arrested five suspected murderers and armed robbers. They recovered Lexus jeep Reg no GGE197 JJ, Toyota muscle Reg no BOG 684 AA, bed frames, mattresses, four short locally made single barrel gun, two Nokia C32 Andriod phones and one cut-to-size double barrel gun.”
