22Bet Nigeria has unveiled former Super Eagles striker and Nigerian football legend Daniel Amokachi as its Pan-African Brand Ambassador, in a partnership aimed at promoting African football culture, supporting local communities and encouraging responsible engagement in sports.
The unveiling was held at BON Hotels, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, and was attended by members of the media, football stakeholders and partners.
The appointment marks a significant step in 22Bet’s commitment to celebrating the rich culture of African football and contributing to the growth of the game across the continent.
Amokachi, popularly known as “The Bull,” is regarded as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated footballers. He represented the Super Eagles at major international competitions and enjoyed a successful club career in Europe, featuring for Club Brugge, Everton and Besiktas.
Speaking at the unveiling, 22Bet Nigeria Country Manager, Fikayo Ogunfuye, said the partnership was designed to go beyond brand visibility and create meaningful impact within football communities across Africa.
“Today is an important day for 22Bet Nigeria and for African football. We are proud to officially unveil Daniel Amokachi as 22Bet’s Pan-African Brand Ambassador,” Ogunfuye said. “This partnership is not about short-term visibility; it is about purpose. Daniel joins our pan-African sports platform to support football culture, local communities and responsible engagement across Africa.”
Also speaking, the company’s Head of Operations, Olufemi Olobayo, described Amokachi as more than a football icon, noting that his achievements and continued influence have made him a symbol of Nigerian and African football.
According to him, Amokachi carried the hopes of a nation during his playing career and has continued to inspire generations since retiring from professional football.
Olobayo said football remained one of the strongest forces uniting Africa, connecting people across regions and creating opportunities for young talents.
“From the streets of Lagos to communities across West, East and Southern Africa, the game shapes identity, builds character and creates opportunity,” he said.
“Through this partnership, we want to celebrate that culture, amplify authentic African football stories and contribute meaningfully to the communities that keep the game alive.”
He added that the company recognised the responsibility that came with its growing sports platform and would continue to promote positive values and responsible engagement.
Olobayo said Amokachi’s integrity, leadership and deep connection to football made him a suitable ambassador to communicate the company’s message across the continent.
He noted that the partnership would focus on celebrating African football heroes, supporting initiatives that benefit young players and grassroots football communities, and using Amokachi’s influence to encourage positive and responsible participation in the sport.
“We are honoured that a man of Daniel Amokachi’s stature has chosen to join us on this journey,” Olobayo said.
Amokachi, who expressed appreciation to 22Bet for selecting him as its Pan-African Brand Ambassador, said the partnership would give him a broader platform to contribute to the development of football and support communities.
“Football gave me everything. It took a boy from Kaduna and gave him the world,” Amokachi said.
“Africa has incredible talent. I want to support young players and football communities. This partnership is about giving back and telling African football stories — the real stories of hard work, sacrifice and hope that too often go unheard.”
The former Super Eagles forward said there were many football legends and talented individuals across Nigeria and Africa who were capable of occupying similar positions.
He said he was honoured to have been chosen for the role and described the appointment as an opportunity to expand his efforts to give back to society.
According to Amokachi, his decision to accept the partnership was influenced by 22Bet’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and community development.
“This deal gives me the room to do more by giving back to Nigeria and the country,” he said.
“We have seen many agencies come to Nigeria without giving back to the country. The more you make, the more you should invest in the community and the people.”

Amokachi represented Nigeria at the FIFA World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations and remains an influential voice in African football.
