A continental youth leader of Kogi State origin, Oladele John Nihi, has said Yahaya Bello’s senatorial ambition should be seen as a project that extends beyond Kogi Central Senatorial District.

In a statement issued on Monday, Nihi said Bello’s aspiration is aimed at promoting the broader interests of Kogi State and strengthening its representation at the national level.

He noted that Bello remains a key political figure from the state, adding that his experience in governance, national political reach, and focus on youth engagement give him relevance beyond a single senatorial district.

According to him, Kogi State needs stronger representation at the National Assembly to improve its visibility, attract development, and play a more active role in national policymaking.

He maintained that Bello’s tenure as governor was marked by initiatives targeted at youth inclusion, women’s empowerment, infrastructure development, security enhancement, and efforts to promote unity across the state.

Nihi urged residents of Kogi State to view the ambition as a collective political interest rather than a sectional pursuit, stressing that it offers an opportunity to advance the state’s common goals.

He also called on young people to support the aspiration, saying it reflects a chance to strengthen unity and encourage greater youth participation in politics.

He added that backing leaders who prioritise empowerment and inclusion remains vital to shaping a stronger future for Kogi State within Nigeria’s democratic structure.
