Ahead of next year’s presidential election, some women have gone spiritual for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, revealing that they would be organising weekly intercessory prayers until the conduct of the election.
National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mary Alile Idele, made the disclosure in her speech during the official commissioning of the Tinubu Torchbearer (TTB) national secretariat in Abuja yesterday.
Idele explained that the prayer sessions would be led by ordained female ministers, royal sisters, prayer networks and the Northern Muslim Women Assembly (NMWA), adding that the spiritual engagement reflects their collective belief that while strategies and policies are important, divine guidance and support remain essential for national progress and success. She also disclosed that apart from organising prayers, the movement has secured several state offices and secretariats to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and coordination.
“One of the key activities that will take place at this Secretariat is the organisation of weekly intercessory prayers for our nation and for the administration of President Bola Tinubu throughout the campaign period and beyond.
“These prayer sessions will be led by ordained female ministers, royal sisters, prayer networks and the Northern Muslim Women Assembly (NMWA). This spiritual engagement reflects our collective belief that while strategies and policies are important, divine guidance and support remain essential for national progress and success. “The Tinubu Torchbearers is fundamentally a grassroots mobilisation vehicle established to amplify, communicate and resonate the achievements of the Renewed Hope administration among ordinary Nigerians.
“We must continue to oil the grassroots. The people must see the light. They must hear the message. They must understand the achievements. They must become active participants in the Renewed Hope journey. Most importantly, they must deliver overwhelming support for the vision of a better Nigeria.

Commending the APC chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, she said: “At the outset, I wish to sincerely appreciate the leadership of our great party under the stewardship of our National Chairman for his unwavering support for the women’s wing of our party.”
“His leadership has continued to create opportunities for women to participate meaningfully in party affairs and nation-building. We remain grateful for his confidence in the capacity of women as critical stakeholders in the growth and success of our party.
