Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has announced that partisan divides have dissolved in Rivers State, with members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) uniting under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking on Monday to leaders, youths, and women from Etche and Omuma Local Government Areas during a visit to the councils, the former Rivers State governor emphasized that political labels now take a backseat to collective development goals.
“In Rivers State, APC and PDP have already collapsed into one family, the Renewed Hope family,” Wike declared.
He attributed the cross-party harmony to shared values, mutual respect, and a focus on delivering democratic dividends to residents.
“I don’t want to hear again, ‘I am PDP’ or ‘I am APC.’ What I want to hear is that you are working together. All of us are members of the Renewed Hope agenda. It is one family,” he added.

Wike clarified that his trip was purely appreciative, not a campaign event. “We didn’t come for any rally. I am here to say thank you for the support you have given to us over the years. We are not ungrateful people,” he stated.
Praising the local government chairmen in Etche and Omuma for fostering stability, Wike urged all leaders to uphold agreements. “Agreement is agreement. When you agree with people, you must keep it,” he said.
The minister warned that division hampers progress while unity drives results. “When you are united, you get results. When you are divided, you lose,” he cautioned.
Wike expressed gratitude to women, youths, and community leaders for their role in maintaining peace, calling the visit’s calm atmosphere a sign of political maturity.
“This is not a rally. It is simply to say thank you,” he concluded.
