Former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole ruled out the prospect of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi winning the 2027 general election.

The declaration comes amid rumours that Atiku and Obi may run on a combined ticket for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Oshiomhole stated that both Atiku and Obi have a history of electoral failure, whether they run together or separately, and that they would meet the same fate if they teamed up again against President Bola Tinubu.

“Did Atiku and Obi not run together before and contested against APC? You can throw any number you want to throw but the point is that when these two ran together, they were loudly defeated by APC.

“So why are you suggesting if the two, when they did before, what happened?

“You are the one who is recycling history. They have a history of being defeated together, and they have a history of being defeated apart.

“They ran together. They were defeated. They ran separately, they were defeated. If they come back together, very good. They will still be defeated,” Oshiomhole said.
