Presidential aspirant of the Action Alliance, Joseph Oluwadare Faduri, has explained why he is no longer supporting former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, ahead of the 2027 general election.
Faduri said his decision was based on his belief that Obi would not be the presidential candidate on the ballot in 2027.
Speaking during an interview with ARISE NEWS on Thursday, Faduri said the candidate he expects to see on the ballot is New Nigeria Peoples Party presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso.
“Mr. Peter Obi is not on the ballot. That’s why I’m not supporting him. The man on the ballot is Kwankwaso. It’s not Mr. Peter Obi,” he said.
Obi was the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, in which he finished third behind Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Faduri’s comments come amid ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with opposition figures and parties exploring different platforms and alliances.

The Action Alliance presidential aspirant also called on younger Nigerians to take a more active role in determining the country’s political direction in 2027.
“So let’s this younger generation now decide their country in 2027,” he said.
Faduri further criticised Nigeria’s political system, arguing that the high cost of participating in politics is discouraging credible Nigerians from seeking elective positions.
He said the dominance of money in politics has limited the pool of people willing and able to contest for public office.
“Nigerian politics is so expensive that if we continue this way, we’re not going to get the best of people to run our nation,” Faduri said.
He added that one of the issues that should be addressed is the growing influence of money in the country’s electoral politics.
