The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State for the 2027 election, Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, has called for unity among party members and stakeholders following his emergence as the party’s flagbearer.
In a statement issued on Saturday after the APC governorship primary election, Wadada expressed gratitude to God, party members and supporters across the state for the confidence reposed in him during the exercise.
He described his emergence as a collective mandate and pledged to work towards the progress and development of the state.
“I sincerely thank the members of our great party, the APC, for the confidence reposed in me through their support and votes in the Governorship Primary Election,” he said.
“I am equally grateful to our party leaders, stakeholders, supporters, and the good people of Nasarawa State whose prayers, encouragement, and unwavering belief in our shared vision made this victory possible.”
The APC candidate also commended the Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, for what he described as his commitment to the unity and stability of the party as well as the peaceful conduct of the primary election.

“I wish to specially acknowledge and appreciate His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, for his leadership of our great party and his commitment to a peaceful, transparent, and successful primary process,” Wadada stated.
According to him, the victory belongs to all members of the APC and the people of the state, irrespective of political affiliation.
He therefore appealed to other aspirants and their supporters to join hands with him in the interest of the party and the development of the state.
“This victory is not mine alone; it belongs to every party faithful and every citizen who desires a more prosperous, united, and progressive Nasarawa State,” he said.
“I extend a hand of fellowship to all aspirants and their supporters as we move forward together in the spirit of unity, reconciliation, and collective purpose.”
Wadada further pledged to provide purposeful leadership and people-oriented governance if elected governor in 2027, noting that the development of the state requires collective efforts from all stakeholders.
“The task ahead is greater than any individual, and I remain committed to working with all stakeholders to advance the development of our state and improve the lives of our people,” he added.
