Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aba South Senatorial District, have said the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election will be like a tsunami, and that it will start from Abia South.

Addressing journalists in Abia, spokesperson for the APC members in the district, Chief Chinwe Nwanganga, thanked President Tinubu and the National Chairman of APC, Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, for giving the Abia South Senatorial ticket of the party for the 2027 election to Prince Paul Ikonne.

Nwanganga said the party’s decision to allow equity, justice, and fairness to take centre stage in their affairs speaks volume, and that will not be taken for granted.

“Our party’s decision to allow equity, justice, and fairness take centre stage in their affairs speaks volume and that will not be taken for granted.

“Therefore, we wish to pledge our full support to all the candidates of APC: from President Bola Tinubu, Hon. Prince Paul Ikonne, and others as we move into the general election phase.

“The Tinubu Tsunami, no doubt, will first begin in Abia South, and then move down to the other parts of the state. Together, we will consolidate this victory and deliver for all Nigerians”.

Nwanganga commended the leadership of the party for ensuring a transparent and credible process, which he said has strengthened internal democracy and given the party a clear direction.

“The real congresses held were the ones that led to the emergence of Hon. Prince Paul Ikonne, as the candidate of Abia South Senatorial District, and Chief Sam Nwogu, as the candidate of Ukwa Federal Constituency”.

Thanking the president and the National Working Committee for listening to the people’s quest for equity and for the restoration of their mandate, Nwanganga said, “we wish to state that it is an indisputable fact that, in the last 28 years of the present political dispensation in Abia South Senatorial District, the Obingwa Local Government has retained the senate for 20 years counting, not forgetting that the president has graciously appointed one of their illustrious sons in the person of Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu as an Ambassador of Nigeria to the Kingdom of Spain”.

He said the choice of Hon. Prince Ikonne as the APC candidate for Abia South Senatorial District election was a testament to his experience that spans over 20 years.

He said they have no doubt that Ikonne will bring to bear his wealth of experience in repositioning the senatorial zone which, he said, has been clamouring for change and adequate representation at the senate.
