Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council Abdulaziz Yari has said President Bola Tinubu’s achievements and future plans will form the centrepiece of the party’s campaign for the January 16, 2027, presidential election.

Yari said the campaign would focus on communicating the administration’s record to Nigerians, particularly its impact on ordinary citizens and its infrastructure projects.

He spoke on Wednesday in Abuja in his acceptance speech following the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council by President Tinubu.

“As we start going around to royal fathers and clerics, this is the message I have been sending today: our campaign is going to be centred on what you have done and what you are going to do in the future,” Yari said.

He commended Tinubu for what he described as achievements in infrastructure development and improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians, adding that the President’s record had made the campaign team’s assignment easier.

“You have touched the life of an ordinary man. You have been there in infrastructure, building the iron road as if the money is nothing,” he said.

Yari assured the President that members of the campaign council would work together to secure his re-election, describing the assignment as a collective responsibility.

“We are going to do it all honestly with the trust and, by God’s grace, we are going to deliver,” he said.

He added that the council had one overriding objective: to return Tinubu to office for a second term.

“It’s no time for ego. We are all one in this business. We have only one agenda. What is that agenda? To ensure that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu returns as President,” Yari said.

The former Zamfara State governor also urged members of the council to close ranks and work towards delivering the mandate entrusted to them by the President.

Yari described women as central to the APC, arguing that the Tinubu administration had provided opportunities for women in government.

He cited the appointment of eight female ministers, women serving as heads of federal agencies and other appointments across the country as evidence of the administration’s commitment to women’s inclusion.

According to him, the campaign would seek to translate what he described as the administration’s support for women into electoral backing at the polling units, wards, local government and state levels.

He expressed confidence that the campaign council, working with party leaders and other stakeholders, would deliver a successful outcome for Tinubu in the January 2027 election.

Yari formally accepted the appointment, pledging to work with every member of the council to achieve its objective.

“I, Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, as Director-General of this campaign, Mr President, I will do my best, and I will work with each and every member of this council to ensure that the result becomes a successful one by the 16th of January 2027, inshallah,” he said.
