Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has predicted that the President will secure a significantly wider victory margin in the 2027 presidential election than he did in 2023.
Bwala made the prediction during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he expressed confidence in Tinubu’s chances of securing re-election.
According to him, the difference between Tinubu’s votes and those of his opponents in 2027 would be considerably larger than the margin recorded in the last presidential election.
“Let me tell you and let me say it categorically and I will be happy to come back. The margin of gap that President Bola Tinubu will give each and everyone of these candidates will be so much that you won’t believe it,” Bwala said.
Tinubu won the 2023 presidential election with 8,794,726 votes, defeating the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Atiku Abubakar, by 1.81 million votes and the Labour Party’s Peter Obi by 2.69 million votes.
Bwala said his confidence was partly based on what he described as increased political support for Tinubu among governors who were elected on opposition party platforms.
Since the 2023 election, several governors elected under opposition parties have moved to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), a development Bwala believes could strengthen Tinubu’s political structure ahead of the 2027 contest.
He further predicted that more governors would support Tinubu in the next presidential election than backed him during the 2023 contest.
