From Uchenna Inya, Abakaliki
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), South East zone, Hausa and Yoruba communities in Ebonyi State, have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for next year’s general election.
South East CAN, Hausa, and Yoruba communities in Ebonyi State endorsed the President yesterday, in Abakaliki, at a town hall meeting
powered by the Directorate of Infrastructure, Mobilisation and Sensitisation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).
Addressing members of the association, the President, Christian Fellowship of Nigeria (CFN), South East Zone, Rev. Fr. Abraham Nwali, appreciated the President for uplifting the zone through massive infrastructure. He urged members of the association and the entire people of the zone to support Tinubu’s re-election as a mark of appreciation for his love for the region.
“We owe our leader, the President, and the Minister of Works, His Excellency, Sen. David Umahi, appreciation. And the only way we can show our appreciation is to support the President in the 2027 general election”, Nwali stated.
Former President of the Women Wing of the association, Mrs. Uche Charity Ujunwa, said Tinubu has brought reforms in the country, which, according to her, is impacting positively on the people and, therefore, called for support of the President in the 2027 general election.

“This administration has started work. Let us give them a chance to complete their eight years. Nigeria is too big to be governed and things put in place under four years, it is not possible. Let us support President Bola Tinubu; let us not divide our votes”, she said.
Also speaking, leader of the Youth Wing of CAN, South East, Peter Onyeabor, assured that the entire Christian youths in the zone will deliver the President in the general election.
On their parts, the Leader of the Yoruba community in Ebonyi, Kazeem Bankole, and the Leader of the Hausa community in the state, Alhaji Danjuma Gambo, declared that they will mobilise their respective communities to deliver Tinubu and all the APC candidates in the general election.
Addressing the South East CAN, Hausa, Yoruba communities and other non-indigenes in the state, the Director, Directorate of Infrastructure, Mobilisation and Sensitisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, urged the people of the region to bury sentiments and deliver the President in 2027, to be able to get the seat when their turn comes for the position.
He opined that the South East needs eight years presidency and urged the people of the zone to support President Tinubu, so that the zone can also govern for four years when they will produce the presidency.
“What we, the people of the South East, want is an eight years presidency and not four years. The person that is saying that he will rule for four years as a president ruled for eight years as governor. If four years was enough, why did he govern for eight years as a governor? He would have stopped at four years.
“Four years is the introduction. So, our position as leaders of the South East is that Igbo need to complete eight years presidency. Igbo want eight years of presidency when it is our turn. We must support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, so that we can rule for eight years when our time comes for the position”, Umahi said.
