Northern Nigeria Youth Leaders Forum (NNYLF) has formally commenced process to re-elect President Bola Tinubu by endorsing his aspiration and raising over N200 million to purchase the All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination forms.

National leader of the NNYLF, Gamji Murtala, made the disclosure at a high-level youth leadership and stakeholders’ engagement in Abuja, yesterday, which drew youth leaders, professionals, grassroots mobilisers, tribal representatives and political figures from all 19 northern states.

The leader equally disclosed that the decision to endorse President Tinubu was reached through a unanimous consensus agreement among northern youth leadership structures, backed by the forum’s Board of Trustees (BOTs), grand patrons and the director-general of the northern chapter of the Tinubu Support Group.

He explained that the N200 million currently held in the custody of the BoTs and other designated leaders, would be deployed specifically to acquire President Tinubu’s nomination forms once the APC process begins.

He said: “With the support of our BoTs, our grand patrons, which many of them are here, some are represented by others, and also with the support of the DG, the Tinubu Support Group is also from the north, we have made this to show that yes, we the northern youth leaders, we are professional bodies among us, both at home and diaspora, have decided to support President Tinubu with N200 million under the custody of our BoTs and other leaders.

“When they decide to sell the form, we are coming out to purchase the form for Mr. President for his second term because we believe in the unity of Nigeria.

We believe in the agreement between late President Buhari and Baba Ahmed Tinubu. The southern Nigeria should finish their eight years, then the northern Nigeria will come in,” he revealed.

A communique raised after the stakeholders engagement note that the engagement was convened to review the direction of national development under the Renewed Hope Agenda, strengthen youth participation in governance, and formally endorse President Tinubu, for a second term in office, alongside the launch of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative.
