Prophet Godwin Ikuru, the General Overseer of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry, has revealed his intention to contest in the 2027 Lagos State Governorship election.
Having lived in Lagos for over 27 years, Prophet Ikuru believes his deep understanding of the state’s complexities and his extensive grassroots engagement make him well-suited to lead.
According to him, his philanthropic work, which includes supporting vulnerable communities, empowering youth, and championing initiatives to improve lives across the state, has earned him widespread respect.
In his announcement, Prophet Ikuru highlighted his past political foresight, including predicting the historic victory of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 elections and many others.
“It’s not enough to merely foresee and support the right leaders,” Prophet Ikuru said during a press briefing.
“It’s time for me to step forward and offer myself for service. Lagos deserves a leader who has a heart for the people, a vision for progress, and the courage to make tough decisions. By God’s grace, I am ready to take on this responsibility.”, he added
If elected, Prophet Ikuru promised to focus on inclusivity, transparency, and development.
His agenda includes tackling critical issues such as traffic congestion, housing shortages, youth unemployment, and healthcare, while also bridging the gap between the government and the people to foster trust and collaboration.
