The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Muttaqha Darma, has declared that supporters of the Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) group in Katsina State are committed to backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Darma made the declaration on Sunday during the inauguration of the A4A Katsina State Coordination Committee, where he said the group would mobilise support for Tinubu and highlight projects and interventions carried out by the Federal Government across Northern Nigeria.
The minister, who chairs the group’s Katsina State coordination committee, said A4A was created to take information about the administration’s programmes and projects directly to communities across the region.
According to him, the initiative was conceived with the involvement of prominent Nigerians, including the National Security Adviser, former governors, ministers and former government officials.
“This group has the responsibility of coordinating and documenting the Federal Government’s projects and interventions across Northern Nigeria,” Darma said.
He explained that the group was also intended to complement the work of the government’s Office for the Coordination of Northern Projects by taking information about federal interventions to people across the region.

Darma said members of A4A would visit different parts of Northern Nigeria to explain what he described as the achievements and interventions of the Tinubu administration.
He said the Katsina event was primarily organised to formally inaugurate the state coordination committee and bring together selected individuals who would coordinate the group’s activities in the state.
Speaking on the 2027 election, the minister said members of the group had made their position clear on their support for Tinubu.
“Our votes for Tinubu in 2027 are non-negotiable,” Darma said.
He also said the group would focus on communicating the administration’s projects to residents, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
The minister’s comments came as political activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election continue to gather momentum, with various groups and political organisations announcing support structures for different candidates.
