Former lawmakers from the three senatorial districts of Ondo State yesterday indicated their support for President Bola Tinubu’s second term project.
In a communiqué signed by the convener and former majority leader of Ondo State House of Assembly, Honourable Olugbenga Araoyinbo, they said they have decided to work for Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 election in the state.
The ex-lawmakers, under the aegis of Association of Ondo State Ex-Lawmakers, also resolved to work with the state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to enhance good governance and promote positive participation in political activities in the state.
The former lawmakers stated also that their collective efforts will yield positive outcomes for the nation and Ondo State, even as they vowed to work with all stakeholders to achieve all the goals.
“We reaffirm our commitments to President Tinubu’s leadership and resolve to work towards his victory in the 2027 Presidential election.
“We have resolved to work closely with our Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, to enhance good governance and promote positive participation in political activities in Ondo State.
“As grassroots politicians, we have resolved to commence grassroots mobilisation to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid, leveraging our experiences and networks to galvanize support.”
The ex-lawmakers also passed a vote of confidence in the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, adding that they are proud that he is from the state.
“The minister is one of the poster boys of the President Bola Tinubu’s administration. We are very proud to associate with him as one of us. We are very sure that this is just the beginning of the good things to expect from him,” the ex-lawmakers stated.
