Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Dr. Oluwole Olumayokun Oluyede, is set to officially launch the Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda (OPARHA) following a strategic meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The forthcoming launch of OPARHA follows Dr. Oluyede’s presentation to the President of a comprehensive strategic document titled “Strategic Grassroots Mobilisation for the Renewed Hope Agenda,” a blueprint designed to deepen grassroots engagement and mobilise broad-based support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda across Ekiti State ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to Dr. Oluyede, the meeting focused on the future of Ekiti State and practical strategies for building an inclusive grassroots movement capable of strengthening public participation, promoting national unity and delivering overwhelming electoral support for President Tinubu in the next presidential election.
He stated that while the June 20, 2026 Ekiti State governorship election had come and gone, the task of building a stronger Ekiti and contributing to Nigeria’s continued progress must now take centre stage.
“”Our focus must now shift to the next national assignment. It is time for all lovers of Ekiti and Nigeria to unite in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. I strongly believe Ekiti State has the capacity to deliver an overwhelming mandate for Mr. President in 2027 through strategic grassroots mobilisation and collective commitment,” he said.
Dr. Oluyede explained that the strategic document presented to President Tinubu was conceived long before the June 20 governorship election as part of his broader vision for grassroots development and citizen engagement.
According to him, the document was originally prepared as a long-term roadmap to complement his vision for Ekiti State if elected governor. However, following the conclusion of the election, he resolved that the initiative should still be deployed in the service of national development by supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
He noted that leadership is defined not only by electoral victory but by an unwavering commitment to serving the people irrespective of political circumstances.
The proposed Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda (OPARHA) is designed as a non-electoral grassroots mobilisation and public engagement platform that will establish functional structures across Ekiti State’s 16 Local Government Areas and 177 political wards.
Its strategic blueprint provides for community town hall meetings, stakeholder consultations, public enlightenment campaigns, youth and women mobilisation, volunteer development, strategic media communication, digital engagement, policy advocacy, research-driven feedback mechanisms and continuous interaction between government and the people.
Operating under the theme “Mobilising Grassroots Support for National Development,” with the motto “One Ekiti. One Vision. Renewed Hope,” OPARHA seeks to promote constructive civic engagement while encouraging greater public understanding of government policies and programmes.
Dr. Oluyede paid glowing tribute to the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, party elders, stakeholders, executives at all levels, candidates, members and supporters for the confidence and trust they reposed in him throughout the governorship election.
He also expressed profound appreciation to the good people of Ekiti State for believing in his vision and standing firmly behind his aspiration.
“I sincerely appreciate the leadership of our great party, the PDP in Ekiti State, our respected elders, party executives, women, youths, volunteers, polling agents and every supporter who stood with us throughout the campaign. I am deeply grateful to the good people of Ekiti State who believed in our vision and entrusted us with their support. Your loyalty, prayers, sacrifices and confidence in me will never be taken for granted.”
He added that the goodwill, resilience and sacrifices demonstrated by thousands of supporters across the state would remain one of the greatest motivations for his continued commitment to public service and the development of Ekiti State.
Dr. Oluyede stressed that although the governorship election had ended, the collective desire for a better Ekiti remains alive, urging his supporters not to lose hope but to remain peaceful, united and committed to the progress of the state.
According to him, politics should never divide the people permanently but should serve as a platform for advancing development, unity and the common good.
He disclosed that ahead of the official launch of OPARHA, he would begin extensive consultations with leaders of the PDP, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party, African Democratic Congress (ADC), Social Democratic Party (SDP), other political parties, community leaders, traditional rulers, youth organisations, women groups, professional associations, artisans, market leaders, farmers, civil society organisations and various support groups across Ekiti State.
He said the consultations would focus on building a broad-based and inclusive grassroots coalition committed to supporting President Tinubu’s re-election while promoting peace, unity and sustainable development across Ekiti State.
“This movement is open to every well-meaning son and daughter of Ekiti State who believes in progress, unity and national development. Our collective responsibility now is to work together beyond political affiliations in the interest of our state and our country.”
Dr. Oluyede reaffirmed that his commitment has always been to the peace, unity and development of Ekiti State above personal political ambition.
He noted that while elections naturally produce winners and losers, the ultimate victory belongs to the people when leaders choose cooperation over division.
He therefore urged his supporters to remain law-abiding, continue to promote peaceful coexistence and join hands with other stakeholders in building a stronger, more prosperous and more united Ekiti State.
The official launch of the Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda (OPARHA) is expected to feature the presentation of its strategic blueprint, organisational framework and implementation roadmap, as well as the inauguration of state, local government and ward coordinators.
The movement will also unveil a comprehensive programme of grassroots engagement covering all the 16 Local Government Areas and 177 political wards of the state, with emphasis on policy communication, community participation, youth and women empowerment, volunteer mobilisation and evidence-based public engagement.
Dr. Oluyede expressed confidence that through unity, strategic mobilisation and the collective support of the people, Ekiti State can emerge as one of the leading states in delivering overwhelming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
“Leadership is not defined by winning an election alone; it is defined by the willingness to continue serving the people regardless of the circumstances. My commitment to Ekiti State and Nigeria remains unwavering. Together, we can build a stronger, more united and more prosperous future under the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
The launch of OPARHA is expected to attract political leaders, traditional rulers, professionals, youth and women organisations, market associations, farmers, artisans, religious leaders, civil society organisations and other stakeholders from across Ekiti State, marking the beginning of what its promoters describe as a long-term movement for grassroots mobilisation, inclusive development and national progress.
