…as Adeleye unveils C.A.R.E Agenda

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated its Campaign Council for the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the party’s candidate, Adijat Adeleye, unveiling the CARE Agenda as the guiding framework for her proposed legislative representation.

The inauguration, held at Ifo Town Hall, Ifo Local Government Area, also saw the campaign council set a target of securing an average of 70 per cent of the total valid votes cast for the APC across Ifo and Ewekoro Local Government Areas.

Speaking shortly after the inauguration of the Council, Adeleye described the exercise as a defining step towards building an effective campaign structure capable of translating the party’s political strength into electoral victory.

She charged council members to adopt coordinated, disciplined and result-oriented approach to grassroots mobilisation, noting that the newly inaugurated council would work in collaboration with the established Local Government campaign councils in Ifo and Ewekoro to strengthen stakeholder engagement and ensure effective coordination of campaign activities.

Unveiling the C.A.R.E Agenda, which stands for Constituency Advocacy, Access to Opportunities, Responsive Representation, and Empowerment and Engagement, the APC candidate explained that the framework would shape her approach to representation at the Federal House of Representatives. The former two terms lawmaker said its priorities include amplifying constituents’ concerns in legislative and policy-making spaces, connecting residents to relevant development opportunities, promoting accessible and accountable representation, and expanding citizens’ participation in the development process.

She further disclosed that “a comprehensive campaign itinerary would feature strategic stakeholder engagements, ward-by-ward mobilisation and community-level outreach. The planned engagements would extend beyond political meetings to include religious institutions, traditional rulers, market associations, professional bodies, youth and women groups, artisans, traders, farmers, transport workers, students, persons with disabilities and other segments of the electorate”.

To achieve the campaign’s electoral target, Adeleye emphasised sustained grassroots mobilisation, effective polling-unit coordination, regular performance assessment and peaceful engagement with voters. She urged council members to listen to residents’ concerns, communicate the party’s vision in practical terms and translate political goodwill into public trust and electoral support.

Earlier in their respective goodwill messages, the Party Chairman, Ifo LG, Barr. Olumide Oduwole, his Ewekoro Counterpart, Ayinde Sogbamu, the Deputy DG, Hon. Israel Jolaosho, APC Candidates, Ifo I & II, Hon. Fola Salami, Ibrahim Amosu respectively; party Chieftains including Chief Derin Adebiyi and Hon. Bode Adeaga admonished the campaign council members to see their nominations as a call to further serve the party.

They further solicited the need for sustained support to all candidates of the party, noting that the assignment at hand required collective wins.

Israel Jolaosho; Secretary, Lukman Kiadese and the Chairman, Independent Campaign Group, Hon. Wole Enilolobo, later presented three branded utility vehicles to them to aid the discharge of their duties.
