The 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has said there is no merger deal with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) or any other party ahead of the 2027 general election.

He said this during a State of the Nation press conference in Abuja on Thursday.

Recall that 2023 presidential candidate of NNPP, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso recently denied being part of a purported agreement by opposition leaders to work together for the 2027 elections.

Kwankwaso said the camp of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the PDP candidate in 2023, told some northern religious and political leaders of an agreement involving him and Obi to take turns at the presidency from 2027.

At Thursday’s press conference, Obi said no agreement has been reached with any other party yet.

Obi accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of mismanaging the nation’s resources and called on lovers of Nigeria to come together in 2027 to defeat the party.
