Amid concern by the opposition on the neutrality of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the 2027 general election, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Presidential Campaign Organization has warned that Nigerians would not accept a flawed poll.

The Director, Strategic Communications, Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organization (MDPCO), Richard Ihediwa, told Daily Sun, in an interview, that INEC must ensure that the result of the general election reflects the wishes of the people as expressed at the various polling units.

Ihediwa, who noted that it is obvious that Nigerians are allegedly tired of the President Bola Tinubu All Progressives Congress (APC) administration, said the citizens are looking forward to voting the APM presidential candidate Seyi Makinde in the January 1 6, 2027 poll.

According to him, “all our Campaign wants is a credible election that reflects the will and aspiration of the people as expressed at the polls. INEC would have no excuse about not delivering a credible election in 2027. Nigerians are not willing to hear about technology glitches. They are not willing to hear about late arrival of sensitive or insensitive materials because INEC has ample time to put its house together.

“INEC cannot also give us any excuse about online transmission of results. Everywhere in this country, the POS system has shown that there is always network, even in the remotest place in Nigeria. So, INEC cannot give us any excuse anymore. because if people can transact with simple POS even in villages, I don’t see any reason INEC can talk about failure to upload results from polling centres to its IREV and transmit to the main server.”

Ihediwa added that “INEC cannot also claim power failure. We know that some of this equipment can last for 48 hours after being fully charged. So, INEC has no excuse at all. What we want from INEC is credible elections. We want results to be immediately uploaded to INEC IREV and transmitted to its main server. Nigerians are not willing to accept any result that does not reflect their will.

“In this election it is clear that Nigerians have seen the Presidential  Candidate of the APM, a credible alternative to President Tinubu. This is the sing-song across the country because Nigerians are desirous of him duplicating his achievements in Oyo state at the national level. Today the Makinde-Daura Campaign is the strongest, largest and most engaging presidential campaign for the 2027 election and we are running to win.”
