Bola Tinubu

…Vow to dislodge Obidient movement with organic followers

From Romanus Ugwu, Abuja

Nigerian youths under the auspices of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Structure for Asiwaju, have promised to deliver at least six million votes to ensure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu during the forthcoming 2027 presidential election.

They further assured that they will effortlessly dislodge the Obidient Movement organically during the presidential poll.
The convener of the Structure, Michael Nwoko, who made the disclosure while addressing newsmen at the party’s national secretariat, confessed that the movement took the ruling party and the presidency by the storm.

“All we need to do is to have data driven process platform about the Nigerian youths that have attained voting age and bring them into the pool. We have platform at zonal, state and local government levels and we will engage them constructively.

“The youths need to come together to design a voting system so that every programme will go round and the Youths be given sense of belonging. We are also going to commandeer an organic followership from the preponderance of the youths.

“We also need to have a sustainable means of updating our database and I am sure we will be hitting about 10 million youths in the next couple of months. Our overall objective which is clearly spelt out as our target is to mobilize six million votes for Mr. President come 2027. We want to ensure that our party’s candidates win the elections with wide margin,” he said.

Nwoko, also disclosed plans to how to dislodge the Obidient Movement ahead of the 2027 presidential election, explaining: “Dislodging the Obidients’ Movement will not be a problem at all. They are not a big threat. As part of the discussion we had before now and even while consulting widely with our key leaders and party’s leaders on how to dislodge the Obidients’ movement, we came to the conclusion that what happened in the 2023 presidential election will not happen again.

“We will ensure that we will not be taken by the storm again. We knew what happened that we were taken by the storm and I can tell you that the President has put measures in place to take care of that.

“To achieve this, we must have to give some semblance of sense of belonging. We must make them understand that they are completely involved in the governance process in this country.

“It has started with the sense of belonging given to the youths as Ministers. It has also cascaded to the zones, states and local government. These are strategies that we will use to ensure that no vacuum is created,” he said.
