The Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government (SSG), Dr. Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, has declared that Nasarawa State has fully aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, announcing plans to empower 30,000 youths across the state under the initiative.

Magaji, who doubles as the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda, disclosed this yesterday in an exclusive interview with The Sun, where he outlined ongoing grassroots mobilisation efforts and preparations for a mega political rally in the state.

According to him, the empowerment programme was a central component of the initiative aimed at strengthening youth participation in governance and political engagement.

“As part of the Renewed Hope Agenda, we are empowering 30,000 vibrant youths across the state,” the SSG stated, adding that the programme was designed to build capacity among young people while consolidating support for the policies of the Tinubu administration.

He explained that the Renewed Hope Initiative in Nasarawa State had been carefully structured to reach the grassroots, beginning from the local government level down to wards and polling units.

“What we are doing is coordinating the coordinators. We started with local government coordinators, followed by ward coordinators and then unit coordinators to ensure that the Renewed Hope Agenda is entrenched at every level,” Magaji said.

He noted that the programme is not only political but also developmental, aimed at ensuring sustainable engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The SSG emphasised that the selected youths are expected to play key roles in modern political mobilisation, particularly through digital communication and social media platforms. “These are vibrant youths who understand modern political communication. They are critical to mobilisation and information dissemination in today’s political environment,” he explained.

He further disclosed that the empowerment would be equitably distributed across all parts of the state to ensure inclusiveness.

“Nasarawa State has about 147 wards and the empowerment programme is structured in such a way that every ward will benefit. The beneficiaries will be indigenous to those wards,” he said.

He added that eligibility for the programme had been clearly defined, stressing that only politically responsible and committed youths would be considered. “To qualify, the youths must possess a valid voter’s card, must be members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and must have registered under the ongoing APC e-registration exercise,” he stated.

The SSG used the opportunity to commend President Tinubu for what he described as courageous and visionary leadership, noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda has already begun to yield positive results.

“Mr. President has shown courage and vision in governance. The Renewed Hope Agenda is a clear roadmap for national renewal, and the results are beginning to manifest,” Magaji remarked.

He also praised Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule for aligning closely with the Federal Government’s development policies.

“Governor Abdullahi Sule has demonstrated great capacity and insight in piloting the affairs of Nasarawa State. The synergy between the state and the federal government has brought tangible benefits to our people,” he said.

Magaji announced that a mega rally in support of President Tinubu and Governor Sule would be held next Thursday in the state capital, describing it as a major political event.

“The rally is to say thank you to Mr. President for the wonderful work he is doing for Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large. It is also to demonstrate clearly that Nasarawa State is for President Tinubu, Governor Sule and the APC,” he stated.

He disclosed that the APC National Chairman and other top party leaders are expected to attend the event.

According to the SSG, the rally will also witness the formal reception of defectors from other political parties into the APC, including members of the National Assembly, State Assembly and other prominent political figures.

“These defections are a clear vote of confidence in the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Sule, as well as the performance of the APC,” he said.

Magaji added that the rally would feature the formal inauguration of all Renewed Hope structures across the state.

“At the rally, we will inaugurate all the Renewed Hope structures in Nasarawa State. These structures are not temporary; they are meant to sustain engagement, mobilisation and consolidation beyond elections,” he explained.

He urged residents of Nasarawa State, especially the youth population, to continue supporting the policies and programmes of both the federal and state governments.

“The future is bright for Nasarawa State and Nigeria. With sustained support, the Renewed Hope Agenda will continue to deliver dividends of democracy to our people,” Magaji concluded.
