The Royal Palace of Onendu Ndigbo of Central Region in Ghana has endorsed the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, for a second term in office.
In a formal endorsement letter, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Denis Okafor, who is also the coordinator and patron Ndindu Ndigbo N’uzo ije (Igbo leaders in Diaspora), said that after seeing what the Enugu State governor has done under three years, he is convinced that Mbah is a true leader chosen for such a time as this.
Okafor said as a United Nations Ambassador of Peace, in just three years, Mbah has started and completed many projects, which include the rehabilitation of the once popular Hotel Presidential, rebuilding of the International Conference Centre, the launch of Enugu Air, the building of Smart Green Schools across Enugu State, as well as the construction of major roads.
He said the governor has also promised to build a 660-megawatt electricity plant, which would give Enugu State uninterrupted power supply, build monorail from Enugu Airport to the town, ensure direct flights from Enugu to the United States and United Kingdom, build global-standard hospitals and also begin to generate electricity from coal.
He also said that the governor promised to make CNG buses available and no road would be left untarred in the state.
“His Royal Majesty, Igwe Denis Okafor, the Ezeigbo of Central Region Ghana and coordinator and patron, Ndindu Ndigbo N’uzo Ije, on behalf of my Royal Family, my cabinet and the good people of Enugu State outside Enugu State, do hereby give my full royal endorsement to His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Governor of Enugu State. This is a vision. This is action. This is transformation. I, therefore, call on all Ndi Enugu, Ndi Ugbawka, and all lovers of progress to sustain this trajectory. Let us not go back. The choice before us is, indeed, decisive.”
Igwe Okafor said that he is mobilising all the Enugu State indigenes in Diaspora to not only support but, also, to go home and vote for Mbah during the governorship election.
He said many of them who registered outside Enugu State have transferred their voter cards to their towns and villages, adding that direct flights from Enugu to the United States and the United Kingdom would be of immense benefit to Enugu indigenes in the Diaspora. He said that would also bring a lot of business opportunities for the people of the state.
He appealed to Ndi Enugu, both at home and abroad, to rally round the governor, so that the good work that he is doing would continue.
