The Minister of State for Defence and former Zamfara State Governor, Dr Bello Matawalle, has pledged his full support to the All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Matawalle made the commitment on Monday when he received the Zamfara APC leadership, led by the state chairman, Kabiru Moyi Birnin Magaji, at his residence in Asokoro, Abuja.
He assured the party leaders that he would continue to provide the necessary support and contributions to strengthen the APC, improve its activities and ensure victory at all levels in the 2027 elections.
In a statement signed by his Special Assistant (Media), Ahmad Dan-Wudil, on Monday, Matawalle also commended the party leadership for its efforts to unite members across the state.
He urged the leaders to intensify their efforts towards strengthening the unity of the party.
Matawalle said unity remained critical to the APC’s chances of securing victory in the 2027 elections.
He urged party leaders, stakeholders and members to work together with sincerity and trust.
“If the leaders and members of the party unite and work together with sincerity and trust, there is no doubt that the APC will achieve a resounding victory in the 2027 elections, Insha Allah,” he said.
The former governor stressed that unity should not be limited to party leaders and executives.
He said it must extend to all members of the party to ensure total victory at all levels in the 2027 elections.
Matawalle also emphasised the need to strengthen the party’s structures so that it could effectively carry out its responsibilities and activities.
He described unity as the foundation of success for any political party.
“Unity is the foundation of every form of success,” Matawalle said.
Earlier, the Zamfara APC chairman, Magaji, said the delegation visited Matawalle in his capacity as a father, key stakeholder and one of the leaders with whom Allah had blessed the party in the state.
He said the delegation had also come to seek Matawalle’s guidance and advice on issues concerning the future of the APC and the overall development of Zamfara State.
Magaji stressed the importance of continued cooperation among the party’s leaders and stakeholders as the APC prepares for the 2027 elections.
