2027: LP targets low cost housing, unveils 8 point agenda in A/ Ibom

The governorship candidate on the platform of Labour Party in Akwa Ibom state Akparawa Michael Budh has said that low cost housing across the 31 local government areas in the state would be one of his campaign focal points in 2027 election

The Labour party gubernatorial candidate has also unveiled an 8 point agenda housing for all, care for elders/aged persons, continuation of development projects by previous administration, instant pension/ gratuity, security, power and inclusive governance .

Speaking during a live radio programme on XL 106. 9 monitored in Uyo , the Labour Party candidate explained that his administration would be people centred with focus serving all categories of persons in the state irrespective of background, age and physical ability .

Bush listed out development blueprint with emphasis on massive housing, welfare for the elderly, economic relief, and constant electricity if elected by the people.

“We will build low-cost 1000 housing units in every LGA across Akwa Ibom State. Shelter is a right, not a privilege”

” We promised to establish elderly people’s Education, Job and Relaxation Centres in the state to engage senior citizens productively and give them dignity in retirement

On inherited projects, Bush disclosed that his government will complete all ongoing projects embarked upon by predecessors to avoid waste of public funds.

Bush also stated that the entire development blueprint would be wrapped in an acronym christened to suit the name of the state such as Access , Knowledge, wealth, Advancement, industrialization, business, opportunities and manpower ( Akwa Ibom )

He advocated for instant pension and gratuity for civil servants to be settled in the same day of retirement adding that his administration will insulate citizens from over-taxation.

” We would subsidized many facets of the economy to cushion effects of hardship on citizens in the present hard times while village heads and other traditional rulers with village youth presidents will be engage to tackle insecurity in rural communities”

“Akwa Ibom people deserve a government that listens, delivers, and appreciates its citizens

” That is the kind of leadership I am offering in 2027″ he said.
