Preparatory to the 2027 elections, the Leadership of the Labour Party, (LP) has confirmed the appointment of three special assistants to fortify youth mobilization to surpass achievement of 2023.
The National Youth Leader of the Party, Prince Kennedy Ahanotu, in a press statement Wednesday, emphasized that this strategic move aims to bolster the party’s youth wing and enhance its mobilization efforts nationwide, particularly in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
According to Ahanotu, newly appointed special assistants includes, comrade Ahmad Yau to represent the North East Zone, Comrade Terumbur Benjamin to represent North Central Zone.
Also comrade Nworu Sunrise to represent South East Zone.
Prince Ahanotu, however, revealed that these individuals were selected based on their exceptional contributions to youth mobilization and Labour Party development, with a strong focus on advocacy for inclusivity.
Speaking on key responsibilities for new appointees, he said they should be responsible for Implementing comprehensive youth mobilization activities and collaborating closely with state youth leaders in their respective zones.
Part of their jobs, he said should be submitting quarterly reports on programs and progress to the National Youth Leader.
The National Youth Leader, further emphasized the importance of empowering young people to take active roles in shaping the party’s future, adding that it is committed to creating a vibrant and inclusive youth wing that reflects the diversity and energy of the party’s youthful demography, he said.
