The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Cross River State, Dr. Arthur Jarvis Archibong, has pledged to serve for only one term if elected in 2027.
In his Democracy Day message, Archibong accused the APC-led administration of failure to keep to its electoral promises and ensure public accountability.
“For too long, Cross Riverians have watched from the sidelines while our God-given resources, our beauty, and our potentials are wasted. Our roads are failing, our hospitals are empty, our people neglected and our communities abandoned. That is not democracy. That is drift,” he said.

Archibong outlined a five-point agenda centred on service and accountability, wealth creation, jobs/economic revival infrastructure and inclusive leadership.
The PDP candidate framed the 2027 election as a choice between “stagnation and progress, between intimidation and service, between yesterday and tomorrow.”
“I am not coming to rule over you. I am coming to work for you,” he said, stating: “Together, we will restore the pride, dignity, and prosperity that Cross River State is known for.”
