The Tinubu-Shettima Grand Action Alliance for New Nigeria and 17 other groups said they have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office come 2027.
This is even as the groups equally said they have concluded plans to hold the Azikiwe-Awolowo-Ahmadu Bello National Unity Conference, in honour of the country’s founding fathers.
Disclosing this in Aba, Abia State, the Co-ordinator of the groups, Dr. John Kennedy Osuala said the conference which holds on November 27, in Abuja, will be in honour of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Alhaji Ahmadu Bello he described as Nigeria’s founding fathers who represented the enduring tripartite of Nigeria’s independence, national unity and political vision.
According to Dr. Osuala, “Amist tensions and calls for national reconciliation, this conference seeks to revive the original golden, selfless, bubbling, blossoming and buoyant independence-era spirit of cooperation, co-habitation, and collaboration among Nigerians”.
Dr. Osuala who was the Presidential candidate of the Re-Build Party of Nigeria (RBNP) in 2018, said the conference will invoke the Renascent African philosophy of Azikiwe; Awo’s Democratic and Economic Socialism and the Democratic Humanism and Welfarism of Ahmadu Bello and aligned stakeholders towards sustained progress under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
Going further, Dr. Osuala said the focal point of the conference will be to, “Reawaken national consciousness around the ideals, values, and statesmanship of Azikiwe, Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello as pillars of Nigeria unity
“Provide intectual and political justification for the continuity of President Bola Tinubu’s leadership to secure a second term in 2027.
“Mobilize civil society, academia, traditional institutions, youth, women groups, and Nigerian diaspora to build grassroot broad-based support and sway public opinion across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones towards unity and support for the Renewed Hope Agenda”.
Osuala was optimist that President Tinubu’s continuity will answer the contemporary challenges the country is facing, adding that Tinubu was not part of the old order of petroleum subsidy that has kept the nation behind.
“For avoidance of doubt, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not part of the old order of petroleum subsidy, that kept us behind, kept our education behind, kept our economy behind, kept our social life behind, kept our cultural life and heritage behind, and even kept our politics behind.
“Today, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represents, or symbolizes a new breath of political, management, administration, and leadership air, with new Nigerian philosophy, psychology, sociology, and cosmology”.
He said Tinubu’s second coming will definitely usher in new hope for the country and her citizens.
Highlights of the conference will be triple awards to be given each to the president, and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu. The President of the Senate and others will equally receive awards at the conference.
